Dry Needling

Dry Needling is when an acupuncture sized sterile needle is inserted into a muscle knot. The knot is then released, often with a twitch response found. The knot is then thought to be released leading to increased flexibility, ROM, strength and recruitment.

Cupping

Cupping is a form of alternative medicine in which a therapist puts special cups on your skin for a few minutes to create suction. Our therapist will use this with or without movement in order to decrease adhesions, promote healing, improve scars, and decrease muscle tone/tension. It can also help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage.

Scraping/IASTM

This is a treatment technique using tools which clinicians use to efficiently locate and treat soft tissue tightness and injury. The scraping instruments help break up these adhesions and restore normal tissue mobility,

Blood Flow restriction

BFR is a tool similar to a blood pressure cuff to safely restrict blood flow to a muscle for a short period of time, most often used during exercise. This decreases the stress or load required to gain muscle mass/strength.

Electrical Stim

This is a device that sends electrical impulses to a nerve which causes it to contract. This can be used to improve ROM, strength, pain, healing and circulation.

Mobilization

Physical therapists perform joint or soft tissue mobilization in order to improve the mobility of a specific joint or muscle.  This can be done by hand or with a belt/instrument.

Sport Performance

We offer sport performance training as well to improve power, strength, durability and speed.

ACL prevention program

We offer a performance program in which an athlete can participate in a program that will greatly decrease the risk of an ACL injury. This program also addresses movement patterns, efficiency, power, strength and balance.

More and more research is being done that shows the importance of physical therapy before a surgery. The more you know before a surgery, the better the outcomes will be after.
